When I was teaching English in the coast region of Ecuador, I noticed a real problem with the pronunciation of the final /s/ and /z/. People there used to pronounce words omitting the final /s/. As an example: "voy a comprar do pollo" "vale cinco dollar" "me arden lo ojo" and so on. So, when coast region people start to learn English they move such problem to their English pronunciation.
