- Sonia Hernandez was born in Monterrey, México in 1976.
She hold a bachelor degree in Library Science from UANL (1997), and a master in Library Science from UANL (2001). She was Head of the Library at ITESM Campus Zacatecas from 1998-2001.
Sonia has been working as a Library Specialist at ITESM in the Vice-rectory for Online Programs, since 2005. At the same time since 2004-2014, she has been involved as online teacher assistant and content co-designer for different courses, for the master’s degree in Library Science at ITESM.
Also since 2013 she collaborates as online instructor in the Reading Competences Certification inside the program "Formando Formadores" at ITESM.
Sonia has been an active participant in different committees, leading the Digital Library committee at ITESM Libraries Consortium.
In 2007 she was co-author for a chapter focus on Digital Libraries inside the book "Tecnología educativa en un modelo de educación a distancia centrado en la persona", published by Limusa.
She has participated as lecturer and as workshop instructor in different library forums around Mexico.
