While many teachers acknowledge the benefits of incorporating videos into their lessons, there still remains some confusion about how to incorporate videos for maximum instructional benefit.
In this post, some of the more useful ways to incorporate videos will be presented. Videos can be incorporated in lessons as a way to,
1. Model a procedure
2. Demonstrate a process
3. Present an authentic problem
Videos can be of individual/community/environmental/ or any other kind of issue or problem to stimulate learning activities.
4. Visually represent abstract and complex concepts and/or conceptual relationships
Using videos in these ways enhance students' learning experiences. Instead of accessing only texts, still images and verbal descriptions, students can view authentic or simulated representations of concepts, processes or problems.
