Is critical thinking necessary for students? In our everyday day life we make decisions based on facts, experience, information received or just our gut feelings. How does it feel when you have assess the situation and form your own conclusions/judgement? Feel good doesn't it. So imagine a student who have received some vital information to carry out a difficult task that will take along time to complete, but instead of using the only information given that student do research gather evidence compare and analyse information received/ collected and find another way to complete the task which will be less time consuming and made own judgement. What process would that student be using? Yes critical thinking so it is important for students to think critically as it is a tool needed in everyday life.
