A summary of Doug Lemov´s Teach Like a Champion

In this issue of PREAL Policy Brief, Jeffrey Puryear summarizes the main ideas and conclusions of the book “Teach Like a Champion” by Doug Lemov. In his book, Lemov tries to answer questions about which the characteristics of a good teacher are, what must be done so that students have the best teachers, among others, arguing “that great teaching is an art. The book offers 49 classroom techniques to improve the performance of low-income students in their test scores.
