Dr. Rita Oates is the former edtech director of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the fourth largest school district in the USA. She lived in Costa Rica as a child and attended school (in Spanish) there. Currently she is a consultant to schools, districts and ministries of education. She worked for two weeks with the MOE in the United Arab Emirates to help evaluation and plan for edtech teacher training, among other activities. She understands and reads Spanish and tries to speak it.
