Nusrat Sohail has been an educator for over sixteen years and has served as the Director of STARTALK Hindi-Urdu Language Camp at West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, New Jersey since 2010. Her teaching experience includes Social Studies instruction in New Jersey Public Schools and Pakistani Schools in Karachi. Also, she has supervised student-teachers at Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University. She is part of the instructional team at STARTALK Hindi-Urdu teacher training program at NYU. Also, she serves as an instructor and coordinator of the Kean University STARTALK teacher and student program for Hindi and Urdu languages. She has advocated and successfully initiated a college level Urdu course at Kean University.
She has recently completed graduate course work in Educational Leadership sponsored by Foundation of Educational Leadership in New Jersey. She has also a Masters degree in Education from Monmouth University and another Masters degree in South Asian Studies from Karachi University.
She is the founder of an NGO "Ed4All Foundation" which is created to promote girls education in developing nations. She also develops programs in digital literacy and digital citizenship. She has co-authored an article "Placing Global Citizenship and Literacy".
