Damion Frye grew up in Montclair, NJ. He attended Montclair High School, where he later taught English. He attended college at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine to earn a B.A. in African American Studies. From there, he attended Brown University, earning a Masters of Art in Teaching, then returned to earn his Principal and School Leader Certification from the University of Scranton.
