It is very important to establish a continue communication among students, parents
and academic personnel to promote a safe educational environment for students
and distribute guidelines, develop educational workshops to reinforce how to protect students when they are working online, using social media, among others.

To prevent Cyber bullying in and outside of the classroom school administrators, teachers, students and stakeholders can formulate and implement the use of an Acceptable User Policy and Netiquette (manners or correct/acceptable treatment of other). The Acceptable User Policy will outline what materials or amount thereof can be shared, liked, reposted, reproduced ... online and Netiquette will outline the do's and don'ts regarding posting personal information and interaction with known and unknown persons online. This policy will be shared with the entire school or district through on and offline campaigns or added to the curricula activities and policy document to educate our students, parents, staff and stakeholders.

In the classroom Facilitator/Teacher will

Manage the technology by

  1. Scheduling time spent on online activities
  2. Interact with students online to maintain a visible presence and to support/facilitate students
  3. Utilize CyberCafePro Software (or similar software) to monitor students both online and offline collectively and individually
  4. Use Alerts (Popup) or Screen Savers to promote or reinforce Acceptable User Policy and Netiquette.
  5. Remind students to hold each other accountable to abide by the rules the class or school formulate with respect safe, secure and productive use of the internet (Acceptable User Policy and Netiquette)
