Content: Manifestations of violence in schools are a troubling phenomenon
in the Americas. This problem affects the education of children and youth,
and also their access to opportunities to actively participate in
economic, political, social, cultural and technological societies.
This presentation analyzes challenges and opportunities to cope
with school violence in formal as well as non-formal education.
Find above the results of the online survey on Violence in Schools conducted by ITEN team. The survey proposed on the topic of violence in schools had a wide repercussion: 376 responses were received from 30 countries, 24 from the Americas, including the regions of South America, Central America, the Caribbean and North America. Among the countries represented were: Argentina, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela. Outside the Americas, responses were received from Morocco, Pakistan and Uganda.
