Presenter: Jennifer Batton, M.A. , is the Co-chair of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict, Peace and Conflict Resolution Education Working Group (www.gppac.net) and Conference Coordinator for the annual International Conferences on Conflict Resolution (www.CREducation.org). She worked on a number of national initiatives funded by the United States Department of Education and international initiatives including providing leadership for The Organization of American States (OAS) Advisory Board for the Inter-American Program on Education for Democratic Values and Practices (www.oas.org). Batton provided training, presentations, and consultation for teachers, policy makers, and youth serving professionals on the topic of CRE in many countries, including: Afghanistan, Australia, Belize, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Guatemala, India, Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Serbia, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ukraine.

Content: An overview of skills and a model that teachers and students need to be successful and active citizens locally and globally. Examples from around the globe of ways to build capacity in the classroom, school, and at a state/national level will be shared along with an overview of resources that can assist you in achieving your goals (including free resources available on the web).
