The Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists would like to enhance international engagement by collaborating with other organizations, service providers, educators, scientists, and other individuals and groups to improve professional preparation and service delivery in the field of communication disorders. As such, we would like to partner with our colleagues in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and throughout the Caribbean.
FLASHA realizes attending professional educational activities outside of one’s local environs may be cost prohibitive so to start this process we would like to extend an invitation to participate in our 2018 Annual Convention in Naples Florida July 26-29, 2018 at member rates.
This year’s convention will offer three and a half days of opportunities for you to increase your knowledge, expertise and skills in a variety of settings of the professions. We have engaged a diverse group of distinguished speakers whose topics include speech, language, audiology, deaf and hard of hearing, literacy, diversity, dysphagia, voice, fluency, autism, ethics, professional issues, and more. We are also delighted to once again partner with the Alexander Graham Bell Association’s Listening and Spoken Language activities and convention attendees are invited to attend their sessions as well.
We are excited to have the world renowned speaker, author, and professor Dr. Temple Grandin as our Key Note speaker. Named in the “Time 100” list of the one hundred most influential people in the world in the Heroes category, Dr. Grandin has received honorary degrees from many universities including Carnegie Mellon University, McGill University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and Emory University. She holds the Meritorious Achievement Award OIE from the World Organization based in Paris, and was inducted into both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Women's Hall of Fame – accolades impressive for anyone. Now consider she accomplished these feats while being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder!
We invite you to join us in beautiful Naples FL July 26-29 for an inspiring, educational, and fun filled experience! More information on the Convention can be found at www.flasha.org or by contacting Timothy P. Kowalski, M.A., C.C.C., Vice President for Convention at vp.convention@flasha.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Timothy P. Kowalski, M.A., C.C.C.
