The scholarships will provide attendees, of a certain criteria, with accommodation during their stay for the conference.
Any registered participant can apply for a scholarship through the website. However, ROTA is looking to award scholarships to candidates based on two factors, contribution and need. The scholarships are granted to participants who have largely contributed to iEARN in the past, either through presentations at conferences and iEARN projects, or by being an active trainer in their country. Reach Out To Asia is also looking to award scholarships to applicants with a financial need, to ensure that they get equal opportunity to be part of iEARN International Conference 2013.
ROTA wants to ensure that they award scholarships to the participants who most need and deserve it. In order to do that, the following selection criteria have been put in place:
- Extent of contribution to iEARN in the past and willingness to contribute in the future
- Financial status based on the country of residence’s GDP and personal finances
- Employment status (Currently employed or unemployed) and nature of employment (Example: Self – employed, family business, educator / student at a public school, educator / student at a governmental school or institute)
The scholarship will cover the accommodation for the conference. It is worth mentioning that all other conference related costs are covered by Reach Out To Asia. Scholarship recipients will only need to cover their travel expenses.
Scholarship applications are now open until the 31st of March 2013. Any applications received post this date may not be considered.
