This group has been created to foster the dialogue around the distinct classes of Critical Thinking and to share examples to use within the classroom.
Hi all!
After listening to episode 4 of the program, I feel confident that I am able to create class activities based on the socratic seminar where students work in groups to debate open-ended questions.
What I like the most about the SC is the roles of students and teacher in the process here. The students are very active and engaged in their learning while the teacher's main role is that of a facilitator, guide, and monitor who provides help and support only when needed. This activity not only promotes critical thinking at a higher level of Bloom's Taxonomy, but also encourages autonomy.
I am now introducing this new knowledge in my lesson plans.
Thanks,
Michelet
