This group serves as a space dedicated to educators who participated in the workshops "Building Democratic Classrooms"- which took place in Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago- to encourage them to exchange personal experiences and engage in dialogue about how we use education as a tool to strengthen our students' ability to practice democratic values and principles.
Within this group, educators will find the power point presentations utilized in each of the workshops as well as the projects elaborated by participant teachers regarding the potential ways to replicate the knowledge acquired during the workshops. In addition, educators will also have the opportunity to access to valuable educational resources prepared by the OAS as well as by other relevant institutions.
In these group discussions, we encourage you all to share your own experiences and best practices with fellow participants. We hope that through these discussions, we can rethink democratic citizenship education in light of the challenges and contextual complexities that we each face as educators in our particular communities.
This group was created by the Inter-American Program on Education for Democratic Values and Practices, in collaboration with the Inter-American Teacher Education Network- ITEN, coordinated by the Office of Education and Culture of the OAS.
