Using Apps in the classroom

The purpose of this group is to share different Apps that can be used in the classroom. Such Apps will be evaluated by teachers to know which is the best, if it is paid or free, level of security, interface etc.

Using Apps in the classroom

Teachers have always looked for creative ways to reach all learners; apps are no different. I have experimented with their use in my classes and had wonderful results. My students are more fluent than I am with technology so they eagerly help me when I encounter difficulties. Today I tried kahoot for a mid-unit assessment, and there were issues since it was my first time. However, the students were excited about it and encouraged me to do more assessment that way.

    Hello Dear Jacinta,

Kahoot! is a game-based educational platform that leaves your students begging for more. With a refreshingly new take on introducing a subject and formative assessment - through quizzing, collaboration and presentation of content -

Kahoot! initiates peer-led discussions, with students left on the edge of their seats.

    We really recommend it!

This month, my students and I are working on the SCIENCE FAIR, this year we wanted to take a different view, we're working with their Spanish teacher and their science projects have to be related also to SOCIAL SCIENCE; specifically, the time of the Spanish conquest and the Viceroyalty of the New Spain. I really like PINTEREST, so I made a board to show them ideas, videos, tutorials and different resources to investigate and develop their experiments, it worked really good!
I usually use and reccomend PINTEREST to look for new reading strategies, classroom management, decoration or holiday projects...Here is the link to the SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES FAIR, CHECK IT OUT: http://pinterest.com/asji13/science-and-social-studies-fair/
